We are opening the NWP Benchmark under the aegis of IEA Wind Task 36 Forecasting.
We are excited to host an industry-wide wind-energy forecast validation benchmark exercise in the summer of 2021. This exercise provides an opportunity for stakeholders to evaluate the forecast performance of different numerical models at both intra- and inter-organizational levels. We will evaluate forecasts in two case studies: one onshore location in the U.S. West Coast and another offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea. Please see the overview document for more details.
